Guns N' Roses Album Release Date

More than a decade after its conception, Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy” will finally see the light of day before year’s end, sources close to the situation told Billboard.

The set will be a Best Buy exclusive and will be available Sunday, Nov. 23, rather than the usual Tuesday.

In the run-up to release date, album track “Shackler’s Revenge” will debut in the video game “Rock Band 2,” while a portion of “If the World” is playing over the end credits in the new Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe film “Body of Lies.”

This spring, soft drink manufacturer Dr Pepper offered to send a free can of the beverage to “everyone in America” (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if “Chinese Democracy” were to arrive anytime during the calendar year 2008. A Dr Pepper spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.

In a recent interview with Loud.com, DJ Quik revealed time spent with yet another west Ccast artist and legend; Dr. Dre. Spilling the beans, Quik ecstatically confessed that Dre has been at work with one of the most prolific American composers of the 20th century. “Nobody gets to say this, I’m gonna snitch. The man is getting piano lessons from Burt Bacharach and he’s reinterpreting [Frederic] Chopin symphony stuff. It’s crazy, he’s lost his mind. He’s got like 400 records. As a matter of a fact I was there for like four hours, and I think I only heard maybe 60 songs.” Honoring Dre’s work ethic, Quik continued, “This man’s got like six or seven Detox records if he wants, it’s just crazy.”

If that wasn’t enough, DJ Quik also hinted at another surprise in store for Hip Hop fans. “Another cool thing too that some of y'all don’t know, Snoop is now back in the studio with Dr. Dre. It’s about to crazy!”

So apparently their has been a lot of friction between Chad Hugo and Pharell over the last few years. So much the the dynamic production duo may be cutting ties with each other completely. Pharrell is the most notable member of the neptunes but Chad Hugo is responsible for a lot of hot beats they have pushed out over the last decade.

It's a shame because the Neptunes were a production powerhouse.

It is rumored that Pharell, Lil Wayne and Kanye West will all appear on the new Fall Out Boy album. This sounds like it will be an awesome combination of music.

Pete Wentz was quoted as saying this...

"We got Wayne and Debbie Harry cameos done," wrote FOB frontman Pete Wentz, also revealing that Debbie Harry of Blondie would be making an appearence. " Pharrell produced a track too."

"I just think the record is going to be diverse," wrote Wentz. "It goes all the way between [Blondie and Wayne]."

According to British Vogue, he was sitting in the second row wearing a red thong above his jeans, with slicked-backed hair dyed blonde and brown, sucking on a tampon.

He also clapped along to the music and generally pissed off the peeps in the front row by continually pushing them aside whenever he wanted a good look at the models.

Apple Will Not Shut Down iTunes

* Steve Jobs is awesome. He recognizes that Apple runs the digital downloading sector of the music industry and has no problem shutting it down. He doesn't let anyone fuck around with him.*

The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, D.C. was considering a motion to increase the royalty rate paid by Apple to music publishers and the record labels from 9 cents to 15 cents. That caused Apple to threaten to shut iTunes down should they be forced to pay this increased rate. However, on Thursday the Copyright Royalty Board prevented the raise in royalty payouts.

It didn't, however, back up Apple's suggestion of lowering rates.

So, as of now, publishers will continue to get their 9 out of the 99 cents iTunes charges for songs.
Eddy Cue, iTunes vice president said that if the royalties were raised to 15 cents, then it would cause song sales to go down and Apple to probably operate at a loss.
Cue said, "Apple has repeatedly made clear it is in the business to make money and most likely would not continue to operate iTunes store if it were no longer possible to do so profitably."
So basically Apple wants to pay artists less for them to make more.
